Australian Skills Qualification Authority Regulations permit successful training candidates to use the term AGDA Certified, and to receive a Certificate of Attainment issued on completion.
Additional AGDA training programs are in development, with Certificate 2 and Certificate 3 to equate trade level and full industry accreditation. Only Queensland hosts a licence regime set at the advanced level of Certificate 3; and whilst we intend to approach the authorities in other States to pursue the development of a similar licenced regime, this is not considered a likely outcome given past events.
All the basic elements of each course are specified within the stated and presented course descriptors.
Basic level I skills are applicable to all trades, as listed in the 10 course descriptors; but in the case of this course, they are applied to door installation. Therefore, this course is highly recommended for new employees at garage door companies; and, for those who have acquired on the job training, this class could serve as a formally structured refresher course.
The Certificate 1 concentrates on standard doors, including Sectional, Rolling, Tilt, and accompanying Garage Door Openers.

The Basic skills taught in Certificate 1 will apply to domestic doors. However, as the Certificate 2 and Certificate 3 courses are planned, we envisage optional modules which will focus on domestic, industrial/commercial or both, in response to and accordance with market demand.
